The Role: 

The successful Software Engineer will join our clients' Underwater Measurement Systems division within the Software team. This role would be ideal for a software engineer looking to develop within their career. 
Reporting to the Software Team Leader, the successful candidate will carry out a vital role within a dedicated team developing real time and analysis software for Underwater Measurement ranges and vessel degaussing systems. The candidate will work closely with other project members developing solutions to successfully meet project objectives.
The successful candidate will work on a range of software engineering activities from bid to delivery in 
Data acquisition systems and control systems for naval applications and also Underwater Signature Analysis (electromagnetic and acoustic) & Acoustic signal processing. 
In this role you will be responsible for a wide range of engineering activities covering all stages of a project from bid to delivery. Working closely with other team members and sub-contractors, you will plan and carry out your activities to develop technical solutions, which successfully meet with the overall objectives of your project. 
The role will include responsibility for Production of code to coding standards, The technical performance of the software produced , Interface to hardware team and the Management of the software requirements. 
You will be educated to a minimum of degree level in computer science, engineering or a numerate scientific discipline with relevant software engineering experience and have programming skills and experience in C or C++. 
You will have knowledge of Design of coding architectures and familiarity with programming in Windows or Linux. 
You will have experience of embedded software/hardware integration, object orientated, coding experience and be able to work in line with ticket+ standards. 
You will also have experience in any of the following areas: data acquisition, real time programming, sensor interfacing, LAN Networking / TCP/IP and hardware interfacing, simulink or modern control theory
