Customer Freight Agent - Temporary to Permanent

Job description

Hollyfield Personnel are working in partnership with our established Fradley Park client who are recruiting 2 x Customer Freight Agents to join the team on a 12 week Temporary to Permanent basis. This role will initially be working from home and offers an immediate start.

Job Purpose

To monitor and administrate freight collections and deliveries, and manage on-the-road transport operations to ensure successful completion.

Key Activities

  • Liaison with customers on a regular basis to monitor and process consignments and solve any operational problems.
  • Internal communications with Freight partners
  • Process Maintain & update data on company systems
  • Ensure shipping process is carried out in line with the company’s processes & quality procedures
  • Prepare required paperwork for suppliers Expert user of in-house TMS systems, Freightsoft (training given)
  • Planning of Export linehauls


  • Intermediate user of MS Office Packages - preferred
  • Knowledge of European Imports/Exports Work - desired
  • Knowledge of 'Dangerous Goods - desired
  • Customer Orientation - Focused on identifying & meeting customer needs. (internal and external customers)
  • Cross Border Thinking - Thinks and acts across boundaries (e.g. between processes and departments).
  • Constructive Challenge - Contributes new ideas; is happy to challenge the status quo

Experience and Qualifications

  • 1 years Logistics office experience preferred
  • Knowledge of UK / European road transport geography preferred
  • GCSE Level qualifications in Maths and English preferred
  • Numeracy and literacy skills - essential
  • Ability to work unsupervised. (work from home)

• Some warehouse interaction required


Successful candidates must have:

  • Previous experience working within a similar role
  • Excellent communication skills - both oral and written
  • Strong organisational skills and be able to prioritise workload


  • £9.61 per hour ( £20,000)

Hours of Work:

  • 40 hours per week - Flexible

Due to the location of the role candidates do need to be able to drive and have access to their own transport
